Gardening is an enjoyable hobby but it is also a seasonal hobby in most locations. Here in the upper midwest, winter weather keeps people mostly indoors this time of year. Indoor cultivation is a great way to keep your thumb green when weather turns against you.
Growing plants indoors in soil filled pots is what is traditionally done. If you are like me however you would enjoy lush vibrant greenery to compensate for the stark, cold, hibernating outdoor views of this time of year. Hydroponics lets you push your indoor gardening to the max, even in the off-season by allowing you to do winter gardening.
In hydroponics you are giving the plants the optimal amounts of everything that they need in order to grow and to thrive. You do need to monitor the plants and their nutrient solution a little more then you would in soil gardening but honestly that is what makes it a fun and engaging hobby, so don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t garden in the winter!
