This is a short video of the recently posted Deep Flow Technique (DFT) indoor semi-vertical hydroponics build that was completed recently. If you are interested, this video will give you a better look at the build from a few different angles. Deep Flow Technique was chosen because it has a few advantages over Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) hydroponics. In NFT the roots are watered by a steady stream of nutrients but the roots are not generally kept wet if the pump quits working. In Deep Flow Technique it is basically NFT except it is not a nutrient film, it is a nutrient flow because the water is deeper. It may be more accurate to call it SFT or shallow flow technique. No matter what you call it this means that if power is lost, the roots remain in some water which will help the plants live longer. DFT also occurs naturally when using certain PVC pipe fittings so it is an excellent choice of method. A plans eBook should be available with detailed information and drawings if you check the EBOOK / PLANS page.
