For anyone interested in hydroponic gardening the Aerogarden line of products is a pretty good place to start. For someone who wants to benefit from the ability to quickly grow their favorite plants indoors without having to depend on good weather or even direct sunlight Aerogardens can be the answer.
Some of us enjoy building our own hydroponics systems complete with plumbing, pumps, lights, timers, and measurement meters. There are probably lots of folks who don’t want to mess with all of that and want to go straight to growing. I actually prefer being more involved with my garden but there are times when simplicity would be preferred.
Aerogarden has definitely figured out how to simplify hydroponics to the point that it can be fun for young and old alike. Everything in an Aerogarden is plug and play. They have specially chosen seed pod kits for crops that do well in their units. The nutrients are specially formulated. They have specific bulbs and quite a few add-on options that can go with the Aerogardens. When you get one of their seed pod kits it will come with germination caps, seed plug grow sponges, nutrient solution, and instructions.
Aerogardens are exciting because they pack a lot into a small package. It is difficult to design your own hydroponics system and have it be as elegant and compact as an Aerogarden. They fit nicely into small spaces like a corner on the kitchen counter (they even have a unit specially made for corners).
This past holiday season we have given several Aerogardens away as gifts. They were a fun and simple way of sharing the magical experience of watching your food grow from seed to side salad. So to the beginner and the want-to-be hydroponic gardener: consider the easiest way to get into the hobby, the Aerogarden.
